Peabody Candidates Forum

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce to Host Peabody Candidates Forum on September 16th
Event offers residents a chance to engage with local candidates and learn about upcoming elections

August 28, 2025 Peabody, MA — The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce’s Government Relations Committee will host a Candidates Forum on  Tuesday, September 16th at 6:00 PM in the Wiggin Auditorium at Peabody City Hall. This free, public event provides a valuable opportunity for community members to hear directly from candidates running for Mayor, Councilor at Large, and Ward Councilor positions.

Recognizing that many residents feel disconnected from local government or uncertain about how it works, the Chamber aims to foster greater civic engagement by bringing candidates together in an open, accessible setting. Attendees will have the chance to learn about each candidate’s priorities, vision, and plans for addressing the needs of Peabody.

The forum will be moderated by Chamber President Deanne Healey. Several members of the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee will pose questions to the candidates to encourage thoughtful discussion and provide clarity on key community issues.

“We understand that local government can sometimes feel confusing or distant from everyday concerns,” said Laura Meisenhelter, Chair of the Government Relations Committee and representative of North Shore Community Action Programs. “This forum is designed to break down those barriers and give residents a direct line to their potential elected officials. The Chamber is committed to working with all elected leaders to improve our community, and that starts with informed, engaged voters.”

The event is open to all Peabody residents and there is no cost to attend.  Coverage of the event will also be provided by Peabody TV.   Questions can be submitted for consideration using the form available on our website homepage, www.peabodychamber.com or http://business.peabodychamber.com/form/view/37366 or by scanning the QR code by September 7th
