Meet our Board Member: Laura Meisenhelter

Tell us a little bit about your company, profession or service?

North Shore Community Actions Programs, Inc. (NSCAP) is the designated anti-poverty agency for Beverly, Danvers, Peabody, and Salem. We also serve residents of 18 other communities in Essex County. NSCAP provides a range of programs and services in five key areas: Education and Training, Economic Stabilization, Housing and Homelessness Prevention, Fuel Assistance, and Elder Home Care. NSCAP is a vital member of the community; we recognize that when we assist our neighbors in need, we strengthen our neighborhoods, cities, and towns.

Why is your business a member of the PACC -

NSCAP has been a member of the chamber for decades. Community is our "middle name" and being an integrated member of the business community is a key piece of our work. Serving on the board of the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce is one more way that NSCAP can bring our services to the residents of Peabody.

Something personal about you -

I am a crazy cat lady. I take in elderly cats whose humans have died or whose circumstances require that they surrender their long-time feline companion. At this time, I cater to three elderly Siamese cats: Mr. Pants (14), Blue (12), and Miss Thing (18).
