Chamber Awards Scholarships to Two Local Graduates
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Peabody, MA – June 19, 2025 — The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math) Scholarships: Allyson Bettencourt of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and Nicholas Morad of St. John’s Prep in Danvers. Allyson will be attending Vassar College in the fall, and Nicholas will begin his studies at the College of the Holy Cross.
Each year, the Chamber awards scholarships to outstanding students pursuing either a business or STEAM related degree, viewing the program as an investment in our future workforce. These scholarships were made possible thanks to the generous support of local businesses and sponsors of the Chamber’s annual Torigian Golf Classic in 2024.
“The Chamber Scholarship is about more than academic achievement—it’s about recognizing the potential of tomorrow’s innovators and leaders,” said Deanne Healey, President of the Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce. “We’re proud to play a small part in helping these students reach their goals.”
The scholarship selection process is highly competitive, with a large number of applications submitted each year. All applications are reviewed in a blind selection process to ensure impartiality. Finalists are then invited to an in-person meet and greet, giving the Chamber’s scholarship committee an opportunity to get to know each candidate beyond what’s written on paper.
This year’s scholarship committee was chaired by Lynn Feazel, Aflac/Feazel Benefits Inc. along with Denise DeSimone, In the Game; and Vicki Cormier and Meghan Shea, both from North Shore Bank.
Congratulations to Allyson and Nicholas on this well-deserved recognition. The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce wishes them continued success in their academic and professional pursuits.
