Meet the Board Member: Rob Lowell

Meet Rob Lowell, Senior Director of Community Impact for the YMCA of Metro North

The YMCA of Metro North (which encompasses locations in Peabody, Lynn, Saugus and Melrose) is a diverse association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of youth, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility in our community.

What is the Mission of the YMCA?
The YMCA of Metro North builds strong kids, strong families and strong communities by enriching the lives of all people in spirit, mind and body.  As the Senior Director of Community Impact, I work to develop partnerships with local officials, community organizations, supporters, and business’ to support the work we do in Peabody, Lynn, Lynnfield, Melrose, Saugus, Stoneham and beyond.

Why is the YMCA a member of the PACC?
Being a member of PACC has provided the structure for intentional and impactful networking.  I think any business or non-profit would benefit from being a member of PACC as I have developed quality relationships that have impacted me personally and professionally.

What made you interested in serving on the PACC board of directors?
I believe it’s important to give back to the community in many ways.  I (and the Y) have benefited from being a member of the Chamber.  Serving on the board has been very rewarding.  I often describe it as a highly functioning board with a great committee structure.  Serving has helped me grow as a leader while supported the future growth & success of the Chamber.

What is something about you that most people don't know?
I spent 6 years in Chicago and loved every minute of it.  Now I  love to spend time by Revere beach.
 And I don’t love cats (-:
