AgeSpan's Network of Support and Resources

Every day, AgeSpan employees and volunteers are helping tens of thousands of people live safely and independently as they age.

AgeSpan, a private nonprofit organization founded in 1974, has programs and services to help people maintain their independence, health, safety, and quality of life as they age. AgeSpan is a Massachusetts Aging Services Access Points (ASAP), an Area Agencies on Aging (AAA), and a designated Protective Services provider.

Over the years, our programs and services have expanded, and we serve a wide variety of individuals, including older adults, younger people, those with disabilities, veterans, and family members.

Our care managers meet in the homes of thousands of people in need and their family caregivers, helping to coordinate a wide range of essential services. We have
expanded our transportation and housing support services, launched new culturally appropriate food access and meal service initiatives, and host a global LGBTQ+ Elders conference, all to address health-related social needs.

Additionally, AgeSpan is focused on addressing social isolation and loneliness and investing in the expansion of our behavioral health services. Our programs and services include:
  • Behavioral Health
  • In-Home Care Options & Services
  • Caregiver Support
  • Financial Resources
  • Health, Wellness & Medicare Resources
  • Health Equity
  • Housing Support
  • Information & Referral
  • Nutrition & Meal Services
  • Protective Services

Our more than 450 employees serve adults, families, and caregivers in 28 cities and towns across northeast Massachusetts: Amesbury, Andover,  Billerica, Boxford, Chelmsford, Danvers, Dracut, Dunstable, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell, Marblehead, Merrimac, Methuen, Middleton, Newbury, Newburyport, North Andover, Peabody, Rowley, Salisbury, Salem, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Westford, and West Newbury.

Some of our programs serve populations beyond these communities, extending our reach across Massachusetts and New England.

Additionally, our Healthy Living Center of Excellence (HLCE) HLCE provides programs to help adults of all ages manage chronic health conditions like diabetes and arthritis, and more. The Massachusetts Senior Medicare Patrol Program, hosted by AgeSpan, helps Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, family members, and caregivers become informed to prevent healthcare errors, waste, fraud, and abuse.
