Description
Join in the celebration and share in the excitement as new PACC Member School Street Foods opens their brick and mortar location in Lynnfield!
School Street Foods is a modern take on a traditional Latin-American pastry. Chef Javier Baez's inspiration comes from his grandfather, who owned a 24 hour Pastelito shop in Puerto Rico.
Javier brings both a personal and professional journey to his new venture. Now six years sober after battling substance use disorder for 15 years, Baez has spent the last five years supporting others in recovery while selling pastelitos on the side through pop-ups and deliveries.
School Street, the namesake of the business, holds deep meaning for Javier, as it’s where he learned everything he knows about food, started using substances, and ultimately found sobriety. The business, owned by Gina and Ed Goodwin, marks a meaningful partnership. The Goodwins, community nurses raising seven adopted children in Lynnfield, are dedicated to service. Gina leads “Gina’s Giving Back,” which fed over 15,000 people last Thanksgiving. Ed is a Veteran, locally active in the AA community, and a resilient cancer survivor!
Together, Baez and the Goodwins aim to offer more than just great food—they’re building a community rooted in resilience and giving back!
