The North Shore Center for Hoarding & Cluttering presents the 4th Annual Conference: Hoarding of Animals at North Shore Elder Services on Friday, May 11, 2018. Dr. Gary Patronek, VMD, Ph.D. from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts Center for Animals and Public Policy and founder of the Hoarding of Animals will be the speaker.
Dr. Patronek will introduce the basics about what animal hoarding is, how it fits into the new DSM-5 hoarding disorder, how it affects people and animals, barriers to intervention and what agencies are responsible for responding to complaints and how to work with them and what to expect.
Registration and continental breakfast will be from 9:00 am – 10 am. Dr. Patronek will present at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Eileen Dacey, MSW, LCSW, Clinical Specialist for North Shore Center for Hoarding & Cluttering will present from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm.
Who should attend? Anyone who encounters animal hoarding situations through their agency or profession.
