Topic: Tools from the Small Business Administration
Most people have heard of the Small Business Administration (SBA), but do you really know what they do? What services are available to help you start or grow your business? Now, more than ever, you can’t afford to overlook any available opportunity!
Whether you’re a budding entrepreneur or a current small business owner, this workshop will help you gain a better understanding of the various SBA programs and services available for starting or expanding your business.
- SCORE - The 11,000+ "Counselors to America’s Small Business" have over 600 business skills and can offer you free business counseling, mentoring and on-line resources.
- Small Business Development Centers - offers programs and services to help you start, grow and succeed through local offices such as the one located in Salem, MA.
- Women’s Business Centre (CWE - Centre for Women’s Enterprise) - comprehensive training and counseling on a vast array of topics in many languages to help women start and grow their own businesses
- SBA Loans - Eligibility requirements for the 7a loan program are designed to be as broad as possible in order that this lending program can accommodate the most diverse variety of small business financing needs. The SBA’s America’s Recovery Capital Loan Program can provide up to $35,000 in short-term relief for viable small businesses facing immediate financial hardship to help ride out the current uncertain economic times and return to profitability.
- Government Contract Opportunities - As a small business, or woman-owned business, learn how you can compete and benefit from federal government contract awards and large prime subcontract awards.
